First annual SouSou! Saturdays series at our new CCCADI Firehouse home. Offering our visiting family audiences creative experiences in art making, dance workshops, oral tradition and music presentations rooted in the cultures and history of Africa, and its Diaspora. Inspired by the cooperative economic practice known throughout the Diaspora by such names as "Colecta", "Box Hand", "San", "Partna", or "Sou-Sou", we've borrowed from, and transformed this long-standing practice of collective trust, and contribution into a "cultural SouSou" for the community. (Activities appropriate for children ages 4-10)
