LIVE STREAMING ON
SATURDAY, MAY 21, 2016
FROM 1:30PM TO 4:30PM
Presented by Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute
and CENTRO for Puerto Rican Studies-Hunter College
The program examines how the traditional sacred practices grounded in Yoruba traditions in the Americas understand the care and protection of the mind. In the current environments of anxiety, depression, and mental exhaustion through the lens of the African Diaspora Orisha Tradition of Ori, the interactive discussion between traditional leaders and audience will address the care of Ori - the “crown” of our body. The Orisa/Divinity Ori represents the inner divine intelligence that guides your life, spirit, soul and destiny. Tracing the tradition from Africa to the Americas traditional leaders that also incorporate, reiki, meditation and aromatherapy among other practices will share their practices. This event provides a safe space to discuss the role of Ori in understanding thinking about your purpose, loving self, and honoring the mind, body, spirit and soul.
