- NEW YORK, November 3, 2005— Join Susan Taylor, Rosie Perez, Mario Baeza, Danny Glover, and Miriam Muley, our honorary chairs, in celebrating the Caribbean Cultural Center’s 30th Anniversary in 2006! The Franklin H. Williams Caribbean Cultural Center/African Diaspora Institute was founded in 1976 by Dr. Marta Moreno Vega. Today, it is one of the few cultural groups that has moved from success to success to become one of New York’s leading cultural groups dedicated to documenting, celebrating and sharing the cultural heritage of people of African descent, through multidisciplinary programs such as concerts, lectures, workshops, art exhibitions and conferences.
