Caribbean Cultural Center/African Diaspora Library
Based on the 3rd floor of the Center’s Brownstone is our unique African Diaspora Library. The Library encompasses an assortment of books, magazines and materials that focus on the topics and stories of the African Diaspora. It features past and present publications of some of our most prominent scholars’ dialogues on this topic.
Multimedia Center
Since 1976, the Multimedia Center has archived a remarkable collection of visual imagery in the form of photographs, video footage and promotional prints. Our archives are comprised of the documentation of the Center programming history, exclusive imagery of the icons and legends of the African Diaspora such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puento, Katherine Dunham, Randy Weston and themes such as the Orisha tradition, Carnival and cultural traditions of the Diaspora.
Access to the Resource Center
The Center accepts research enquiries on behalf of clients for media footage or prints. We welcome and allow access to Library for research projects. Appointments must be booked in advance. All Resource Center materials must be viewed onsite.
