Arts in Education: Programs

Our Arts in Education Programs are centered on the cultural expressions of global communities. Our programs seek to help youth educators, and families understand and celebrate their own identities as children of the African Diaspora, as well as to educate and promote understanding by other communities about the African cultural contributions to the Americas.

Led primarily by highly acclaimed professional teaching artists, scholars, and seasoned community educators, our programs include:

  • Cultural Performances.
  • Teaching Artists Residencies (once a week for 8-16 weeks).
  • One -Time Workshops.
  • Professional Development Workshops for Teachers and Parents.
  • Gallery Workshops.
  • Film Screenings and Discussions by filmmakers.

We also provide:

  • Bi-Monthly Professional Development Workshops for artists and educators/.
  • Youth Internship Program focusing on Media for High School & College Youth.
  • Volunteer Programs for Adults.
  • African Diaspora Cultural Arts Education Conference.
  • Youth Leadership & Professional Training After-School Training Program.
