Students admitted into the CAUWW Certificate Program will experience Puerto Rico through the eyes of community experts and scholars who are culturally grounded in the arts, public policy and advocacy work on the island. The two-weeks intensive course of study focuses on the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement, important contemporary issues including cultural equity, social and economic justice and their continuing impact on the present and future generations of cultural arts activists. Community Arts University Without Walls (CAUWW) is a special course of study developed by Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute for those interested in the impact and role of cultural arts in engaging issues of social justice within communities.
