HOME, MEMORY, FUTURE | Self-Guided Tours
Join us on selected dates in February to experience our HOME, MEMORY, AND FUTURE exhibition.
Renowned curator, Lowery Stokes Sims joins Yasmin Ramirez, Marta Moreno Vega, and Regina Bultrón Bengoa in curating our 3-part exhibit. In HOME, MEMORY, AND FUTURE, a variety of artists and mediums, including the latest in Augmented Reality, explore HOME in the age of gentrification, dislocation, migration, exile, belonging, health and unaffordable housing.
Together, the exhibitions chronicle East and West Harlem as far back as the 1970s, exploring the many meanings of home and the similar interpretations for artists of different regions. All demonstrate how individual and collective memories provide a powerful tool for recreating, imagining, and reconstructing cultural traditions to establish a “home” away from home.
