A Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) and Harlem Stage collaboration

Join multi-Grammy nominated musician and WBGO jazz radio host Bobby Sanabria as he sheds a much needed light on the musical contributions that Latino's have made to Harlem’s musical legacy. Since the arrival of Puerto Ricans and Cubans to Harlem in the early 20th century its musical history, and that of of NYC, has been transformed into a cauldron of rhythm and the birthplace of Latin jazz. 

Through visual and musical demonstrations, you will learn about the legacy of musical pioneers like those who served in the legendary Harlem Hellfighters Regimental Band, Augusto Coen, Mario Bauzá, Machito, Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez, Mongo Santamaria, Sammy Davis Jr. and more!
